I build things...
It's funny, sometimes, where life takes you. Growing up I wanted to be a professor. I wanted to teach history to wide-eyed, enthusiastic young minds and enthrall them with stories of years past. Then I became a brewer. After a little over five years of making elixirs for those brave souls who chose to go into teaching I decided to punish myself (not really) and dive headfirst into the magical and complicated world of software development and web design.
I love it. Learning new languages has presented countless challenges and even some triumphs. As I learn I grow, and as I grow the more I want to learn. It's a terribly vicious cycle. I am just scratching the surface of what's out there, but I wouldn't have it any other way. I am now beginning a journey that will allow me to make a difference in the surrounding environment. I will be able to help shape the direction future technologies are going and maybe get others interested in this dynamic and emerging field.
Here are some of the projects I have completed. I will be constantly updating and amending my portfolio as I learn more and evolve my style and direction of interest.
As someone who grew up with bikes and worked in a bike shop in college, cycling is something that I feel a great connection to. I try to use a bike instead of a car whenever possible and enjoy commuting to work and local breweries or coffee shops.
When the great outdoors call, I tend to listen. In 2018 my partner and I backpacked the John Muir Trail - completing over 200 miles of high Sierra Nevada Mountain trails. I'm always looking for the next mountain!
After gaining a certification from UC Davis' Full Stack Software Development Bootcamp I continue to research and absorb new concepts and practices. Software development is a constantly evolving field and staying on top of new technologies is key.
The universe is infinite, but I'm not lightyears away...
